Braised Pork Here is my family recipe of braised pork belly in soy sauce or tau yew bak. It's a savory dish that goes extremely well with steamed white rice, esspecially with a side of sambal belacan. Braising is a great cooking method for large or small pork cuts, but traditionally those that are less tender. You can cook Braised Pork using 21 ingredients and 10 steps. Here is how you cook that.

Ingredients of Braised Pork

  1. Prepare 500 g of pork belly or lean pork.
  2. Prepare 5 slice of ginger.
  3. You need 3 of star annis.
  4. You need 3 of cloves.
  5. It's 1 of cinnamon bark.
  6. It's 6 pcs of garlic.
  7. It's of Yellow rock sugar.
  8. You need of Spring onion for garnish.
  9. It's 4 of hard boil eggs.
  10. You need of Marinate.
  11. It's 2 tablespoon of soy sauce.
  12. Prepare 2 tablespoon of sweet sauce.
  13. You need 1 teaspoon of 5spice powder.
  14. You need 1 teaspoon of white pepper powder.
  15. You need Pinch of salt.
  16. It's of Pork marinate.
  17. It's 1 tablespoon of light soy sauce.
  18. You need 1 table spoon of dark soy sauce.
  19. It's 1 teaspoon of 5spice powder.
  20. You need 1 teaspoon of white pepper powder.
  21. Prepare Pinch of salt.

Braised Pork instructions

  1. Cut the pork in cubes /slice.
  2. Boil pork with 5 slices of ginger.
  3. Remove pork from boiling water & ginger.
  4. Marinate pork for 15 mins with 1tblsp of soy sauce, 1 tblsp of dark soy sauce, 1 teasp of white pepper powder & 1 teasp of 5spice powder..
  5. Marinate. 2 tblsp of soy sauce, 2 tblsp of sweet sauce, 1 teasp of white pepper powder, 1 teasp of 5spice powder, pinch of salt..
  6. Stir fry, 6 cloves of garlic, 3 star annise, 3 cloves, 1 cinnamon bark, till fragrance..
  7. Add in the marinated pork n stir fry. Add in the marinate n stir fry..
  8. Pour in abt 1L of water. Cook under mid-small fire for 1hr.
  9. Add in hard boil eggs, bean curd, tau pok n cook for 30mins.
  10. Serve 4.
